Interesting Cowboys history that can change this year

The Dallas Cowboys have one of the greatest histories in the world of sports. The 2023 season will mark the team’s 64th season. In those prior 63 seasons, the Cowboys have these historical landmarks:

  • All time regular season record: 550-408-6 (.574, best winning % in NFL history)
  • All time playoff record: 36-30 (tied for 2nd in wins behind Pats, and tied with niners, pack and steelers)
  • All time SB wins: 5 (tied for 2nd with niners)
  • Most consecutive playoff seasons: 9 seasons- (1975-83)
  • Most consecutive playoff wins: 7 (1992-94)
  • Seasons in the playoff: 35 seasons
  • Seasons not in the playoffs: 28 seasons
  • Playoff seasons 1960-1999: 27/40 seasons
  • Playoff seasons 2000-2022: 8/23 seasons
  • *Late edit- 20 consecutive winning seasons streak. (1966-85) A record that still stands.

Here are some historic trends the Cowboys could add this year:

  • Win 12 or more games for the third straight year (would be first since 1992-1995 which was 4 straight)
  • Make the playoffs for the third straight year (would be the first time since 1994-96)
  • Win a playoff game two years in a row (would be first time since 1995-96)
  • Win two or more playoff games in a season (would be first time since 1995 season)
  • Win a road playoff game two years in a row (would be first time since 1991-92) (correction)
  • Win a divisional playoff game for the first time since 1995.
  • Play in an NFC championship game for the first time since 1995.
  • Play in a SB for the first time since Jan, 28, 1996.

Here‘s hoping 2023 is historical in many ways!
