I’m not writing this to dis on Dak, but Dak needs to win this game. If we win this game, we’re still in it to win it in this Any Given Sunday league. I believe. As the season goes on, it’s going to come down to coaching more than anything. There are lot of good teams out there. And the teams with best coaches and players are the contenders.
It also often comes down to the team with the best quarterback. The best coaches are able to lean on the best quarterbacks.
Dak can win this game. Just win it, and I’ll shut my mouth all season knowing that on Any Given Sunday, you can bounce back.
Anyone being honest with themselves knows Dak can win this game. Our team has looked dominant at times this season . . . even with Dak at quarterback.
Tonight is the game that defines who we are for the season. Tonight is the night I want to see the real Dak pull out a win. I would say we’d all be pleased with a 4-2 start before the season started. That’s much different than 3-3. 4-2 gives us the cushion to walk like we earned our swagger.
The thing I fear most this game?
Kellen Moore.
It’s not like he’s working with a terrible quarterback. I expect the Chargers to put up a fight. I’m not sure who will win. But I’m pulling for the Cowboys obviously.
To be truthful, the Chargers are playing at home, and have a lot to play for this game. I expect them to come out and be fired up to play in front of their home crowd.
Their offense is top-notch, so I want to see special teams and our offense step up their games today. Let’s not put this all on our defense.
If we can control time of possession and muster up a medium to long-range passing game with any type of consistency, we’ve got this team. If I were HC, my focus would be to set up a passing game threat early on, then taking advantage of the run. I’d scheme around the TEs, Pollard and Gallup. If I don’t like that read, then out to Lamb or over to Cooks cutting across. Either way, get your players open. Let them succeed early in the series of downs. Don’t be predictable with the run. That means when and how you run. Be creative in our scheme and execute.
If we can do that, we win 35-24
