Jets recipe to upset Cowboys

Cowboys interceptions were the talk of the 2022 season and all offseason. They led the league with 15 interceptions. Whether they were due to poor receiver play or bad decisions by the QB, those turnovers cost them all year. In Week 1, Cowboys avoided these big mistakes, even in the pouring rain, but the defense from the Jets is much better than the Giants.

The Jets used four Josh Allen turnovers — three interceptions, and a fumble — to upset Buffalo on Monday night. Their defense is fantastic and could take over the game if the Cowboys don’t protect the ball. It isn’t exciting, but a conservative game plan could be the best strategy for a Cowboys victory in Week 2.

This particular Dallas team has an elite defensive unit. Moving the ball on them will be incredibly difficult for a backup QB. They already shut out their first opponent and could similarly stymie the other New York team if the offense doesn’t give up short fields due to turnovers.

The special teams unit is really strong as well, not often giving teams a chance to return kicks and make big plays that way. Protecting the ball should be a priority every game, but particularly with a compromised opponent like the Jets are currently.

Turnovers are the ultimate equalizer in the NFL.
