Helmet Stickers vs pats

Remember the use of helmet stickers by college and HS teams to highlight big (often underrated) plays that had a big influence on the outcome of a game? Ohio State was one of the first I saw using it, placing a “Buckeye” sticker on helmets. Many other college and hs teams did it too although you don’t see as many teams doing it these days as we used to.

So what if we awarded imaginary helmet stickers to Cowboys players for their big, yet underrated plays each week?

Here are my helmet stickers for Sunday’s game vs the pats:

  • Sean McKeon- the rarely used TE had two big moments in one play yesterday when he threw the block that sprung Devantae Turpin yesterday on a long run, then hustled downfield and recovered Turpin’s fumble inside the red zone. Helmet sticker!✅
  • Jalen Tolbert– 4 receptions for 54 yards on 18 snaps. And he made a big play on STs with a tackle on punt coverage inside the 10 just before the strip sack TD in the 2nd qtr that blew it open. Helmet sticker ✅
  • Dante Fowler- his relentless pass rush/strip sack led to LVE ‘s scoop and score TD. Huge play. Helmet Sticker ✅
  • Chauncey Golston- the backup DL scored on a two point conversion making a nice reception and run following the LVE fumble return TD. Helmet sicker. ✅

Many times it’s not the star players that are the keys to winning. Yesterday showed these 4 guys as examples of players who came up big in moments some too quickly forgotten. It takes every player contributing.

Any other helmet stickers you would award?
