Wilson is a talented young receiver but Diggs, Gallimore, Bland, and the S crew have the ability and experience to handle that corps.
The Cowboys on offense is where the matchups are more evenly matched. I just want to reiterate that as talented as Williams and co are up front, they are not as talented as Lawrence, Williams, and co. Similarly Mosely is excellent, the Jets LB as a group are not as talented as Ojulari, McFadden, and Simmons.
If Smith returns we should be able to get consistent push in the run game. If he doesn’t, I think we will hold our own up front like we did against the Giants front. Our blocking on the perimeter was excellent between the tackles and TE.
The Jets and Giants have a talented S and then not so much. The real difference between the to squads is the Jets corner talent particularly in Gardner. The Bills WR were able to get some completions against him and our WR are better but I couldn’t count on a repeat. Winning in the middle of the field is going to be key. We are going to need to continue to do a good job of playing find the scrub to take advantage of matchups and most importantly our TE simply have to play better in the passing game.
Ferguson and Hendershot showed that they could get open. They did not show they could catch the ball. League leading drops are on them. The rain and plastic gloves were contributing factors but they simply need to concentrate better and I hope they are spending extra time on the jugs machine to get ready.
Overall the Jets are coming off an emotional overtime win where they went from top to bottom 10 in QB talent. We will be at home with all the momentum in the world.
