Exactly 28 years ago, the Cowboys top brass introduced the now infamous Cowboys mascot “Rowdy”. And we haven’t won a divisional playoff game since. The plastic permanent “failed smile” coupled with the scary clown face qualities have made this mascot the bane of small children everywhere. Coincidence?…or curse? (Cue the dramatic music)
So if Jerry can’t admit that Jerry himself is the primary problem with this organization and the biggest cause of the last 28 years of frustration, why couldn’t he make Rowdy the scapegoat? If Jerry’s not the problem, surely Rowdy is!
What a great press conference we could hear! Jerry starts the annual “State of the Cowboys” presser by announcing, “We’re uh, making uh, uh, uh, a change uh, at the uh mascot position, and I’m uh smiling when I uh say that.”
