Asim Richards was brilliant Saturday night

When, I watch a football game, I watch the Offensive Line and Defensive front Seven. When the Cowboys play, I go back and rewatch to make sure I see it

the same way the second time.

I was impressed with Asim Richards watching the game live. Then everyone was trashing his performance.

So, I was sure that when I rewatched the game, it would be less impressive than I originally thought.

However, after rewatching the game, I came away even more impressed.

First, he has very quick feet and even when he takes the wrong step his feet let him get back in position. The sack, he was blamed for, I have timed at 4.12 seconds before

contact according to my stop watch. That should be ample time for an NFL QB to get the ball out. Besides Richards pushed the defender past the QB and Grier drifted back into the sack.

Also, keep in mind that Richards has been mostly playing guard in practice until Chuma Edoga got hurt a couple of days before the game and Asim was asked to step in against Travon Walker. He handled Walker easily except for one play and even then he recovered quickly enough to keep him from hitting the QB.

I’m very confident that if he keeps working hard he will be a very capable backup this year and perhaps much more in the future.

I was also impressed with Earl Bostick Jr. in the second half. Even though the competition wasn’t to a level of Travon Walker.

I thought Josh Ball, Matt Farniok, Matt Waletzko and Brock Hoffman were all less impressive than either Richards or Bostick.
